You are The Potter, We are the clay

Why O LORD,

do You make us wander

from Your ways, O LORD,

and harden our hearts

so we don't revere You?

We don't revere you!

Yet, O LORD,

You are our Father.

We are the clay.

You are The Potter.

We're all the works of Your hands.

O look on us we pray,

for we are all Your people.

You are...

...The Potter!

We are...

...the clay.

PRESS ON!

One can only begin to imagine, while trying to put back together a marriage after a 10 YEAR lapse, the numerous kinds of obsticles that one could run into. We have found in this endeavor that our greatest obsticles are ourselves. We want things to be like they were, or better and we look to whom it is to blame that they are not. And of course, when we look, we fail often to look where it hurts the most -at ourselves! So, what do we wind up doing? We start judging and critizing each other in our points of weakness or failure. And then we attempt to start "fixing" each other in order to change things more to our liking. Well, we fell into this trap, as of late. we discussed it, and thus Dan wrote the following article:

"This one thing I do, I press on to the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." -Philppians 3:14 NASB

But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Chirst Jesus.-Phillipians 3:13-14 KJV

Sometimes I feel as a Christian I am a memeber of the only army that shoots their wounded. We are not called to pass judgement upon any of mankind. The only one we should ever compete with is ourselves. And even at that we have the perfect example to look toward, Christ Jesus, The One And Only GOD-MAN. God calls for us to be the best Christians we can be. Being everyone elses critic is not a part of that equation.

Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. -Romans 14:4 NIV

The heart's cry of every believer should be, as Paul said: "I press on...!" We should look at every day as an opportunity to be better Christian than we were the day before. And in that, includes, learning from your mistakes.

Who are you competing with in that statement: "I press on!", other than yourself? This keeps our eyes focused on our efforts, rather than on the efforts of others.

KEEP PRESSING ON!
